Four years after a mysterious plague wiped out most of humanity, 16-year-old Pumpkin lives alone in a decaying farmhouse, scavenging for food and filling the rooms with jack-o’-lanterns, decorations and memories of Halloween.

She has survived the end of the world. What she hasn’t learned is how to stop being lonely.

When three strangers suddenly appear at her door, Pumpkin thinks she may finally have found the connection she has been craving. Instead, her carefully protected house becomes the scene of a brutal home invasion.

Part coming-of-age story, part post-apocalyptic thriller and part Halloween nightmare, Hallowarrior follows a teenager forced to grow up very quickly when hope turns dangerous. With Milly Shapiro (Hereditary) at its centre, it’s a tense, playful and heartfelt celebration of Halloween, survival and the terrifying need for other people.

Ben Sottak is an NYC-based filmmaker working across horror, narrative film and commercial content. His commercial directing work includes campaigns for Warheads, Sweethearts and the PGA Tour, while his narrative projects have screened at Tribeca, Fantasia, FrightFest, Telluride Horror Show and the Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

He also created and directed the horror series Mordeo for Eli Roth’s Crypt TV, later adapted as a podcast for Blumhouse.
