Are you interested in film, events, or cultural production — and curious about how an international film festival works behind the scenes?
Lund Fantastic Film Festival offers internship (LIA) opportunities for students who want hands-on experience working with one of Scandinavia’s oldest genre film festivals. As an intern, you become part of a small and dedicated team and gain practical insight into festival production, coordination, and communication within an international cultural event.
Our internships are based on learning by doing. Events are practical environments where planning meets reality — a microphone stops working, a guest arrives late, travel plans change due to weather, a film file refuses to run, or unexpected situations arise on site.
Live events require practice rather than theory, and you will actively take part in solving real situations together with the festival team. At the same time, we are a small and flexible organisation.
We encourage initiative, welcome new ideas, and aim to adapt tasks when possible to support your learning goals and curriculum requirements.
We are primarily looking for interns within the following areas:
Support the planning and execution of the festival’s events and public activities
You will help manage different types of festival events, including professional industry events, Q&As, panel talks, parties, mingles, public events, quizzes, and other festival-adjacent activities.
Tasks may include:
Coordinating event logistics and schedules
Technical preparation and on-site checks
Managing guest lists and event flow
Coordinating and supporting volunteers
Handling printed materials and signage
Event setup and practical on-site coordination
Ensuring events run smoothly from preparation to execution
This role suits someone structured, proactive, and comfortable taking responsibility in a live event environment.
Work with festival communication and audience outreach.
Tasks may include:
Writing press releases and festival texts
Following and implementing the social media calendar
Creating and publishing content across platforms
Assisting with press and media communication
Joining live events to create content and coverage
Interviewing guests and filmmakers
Supporting communication activities before and during the festival
This role suits someone interested in storytelling, cultural communication, and working in a dynamic live event environment.
