For the fifth consecutive year, Lund Fantastic Film Festival presented the award for Best Fantastic Short Film at Pixel Skånes Short Film Festival on May 9th.

The 2026 award goes to “Mom Says This, Dad Says That”, directed by LéaCati Vallier.

Jury motivation:
“A highly relevant portrayal of today’s digital dreams and influencer-driven society. This film combines social realism with absurdity, adding a new sense of unease and eeriness at every turn. Through outstanding performances — particularly by the lead actor — it reveals a phenomenon that makes us question and reflect on what is fiction and what is reality. ” 

The award recognises a film in the programme that distinguishes itself within fantastic cinema, including horror, science fiction, and fantasy.

The jury consisted of Gustav Angel, Marcus Filipsson, and Katarina Hjärpe, all short film programmers at Lund Fantastic Film Festival.

The prize includes a screening at Lund Fantastic Film Festival, as well as a full festival accreditation. The 2026 edition of the festival will take place from October 28 to November 4 in Lund.
