CLA, a humanoid robot, undergoes facial expression training with Dr. Paul Hofmann. The session spirals out of control when CLA begins laughing in an oddly inappropriate way. Soon, Paul also bursts into laughter, unable to stop. Can laughter be contagious between humans and artificial intelligence?
