How do films find their way from filmmakers to international festivals, distributors and audiences? At this year's Fantastic Forum, we welcome Niklas Teng from Copenhagen-based international sales company LevelK to share insights into the world of film sales and distribution.
Niklas Teng has worked in the international film industry for more than a decade. As Head of Partnerships at LevelK, he works with bringing films to festivals and audiences around the world.
Founded by Tine Klint, LevelK is a Copenhagen-based international sales and aggregation company representing films across a wide range of genres, from independent dramas and documentaries to animation, family films and horror.
The company has helped bring films such as Sami Blood (2016), Checkered Ninja (2018), Girl Picture (2022) and the Australian horror comedy Sissy (2022) to international audiences. Its catalogue also includes Mr. K (2024), starring Crispin Glover, which won the Méliès d'Or for Best European Fantastic Feature Film in 2025, as well as the Swedish horror film The Home (2025).
Making a film is one thing. Getting it seen is another.
International sales companies play an important role in connecting filmmakers and producers with distributors, festivals and audiences across different markets.
At Fantastic Forum, Niklas will share insights from the international sales side of the industry. How does a sales company work with filmmakers and producers? What makes a film attractive to international buyers? What role do film festivals play in a film's journey, and what should filmmakers know about reaching audiences beyond their home country?
For emerging and established filmmakers alike, understanding the business side of cinema is an important part of building a sustainable career.
Fantastic Forum is Lund Fantastic Film Festival's industry programme, bringing together filmmakers, producers and film professionals for talks, discussions and networking.
This year's programme takes place on November 1–2, with Niklas Teng joining us on Monday, November 2, at Hotel Concordia in Lund.
