Lund Fantastic Film Festival 2026 will open with Kongkiat Komesiri’s spectacular Thai action-fantasy epic 4 TIGERS.

In Thailand shortly after the Second World War, the increasingly despotic Field Marshal Lert declares war on the bandits controlling the country’s central plains. Undercover actress Rosarin assembles four legendary outlaws to bring him down: bullet-bending Bai, iron-fisted Dum, Mahesuan and his invulnerable amulet, and master spellcaster Fai.

Four supernatural bandits must unite to defeat a common enemy. Unfortunately, teamwork is not among their powers.

All Genres, All at Once

Spaghetti Western, fantasy, action, comedy, romance, political satire, martial arts, war film, horror and adventure: 4 TIGERS sees no reason to choose. Black magic collides with gunfire, brutal combat, political rebellion, impossible heroes and reanimated corpses in a wildly inventive genre spectacle.

Enter the Khun Pan Universe

4 TIGERS expands the cinematic universe established in Kongkiat Komesiri’s Khun Pan trilogy, released between 2016 and 2023. While the original films follow the legendary sorcerer-detective Khun Pan, this prequel spin-off turns to the origins of four of the universe’s most iconic bandits—Bai, Dum, Mahesuan and Fai—before they become his formidable adversaries.

The result is a new chapter in the saga, combining Thai history and folklore with supernatural powers, larger-than-life action and the logic of a spaghetti Western.

Following its international premiere at International Film Festival Rotterdam and its North American premiere at the New York Asian Film Festival, 4 TIGERS now comes to Lund for its Swedish premiere.
