Swedish Premiere

Basile Vuillemin // Switzerland // 2018 // Drama // 8 min 26 sec // English Subtitles

Perhaps in the near future, a man uses an automated funeral home called Easycoffin to bury his mother. What he means as a heartfelt goodbye is ruined by technical difficulties. This story has a bit of gloom, but is at the same time an interesting comment on the ongoing automation we see in our current society.

Avarya

Gökalp Gönen // Turkey  // 2019 // Animation / Sci-fi // 19 min 59 Sec // English Subtitles

In a library-like spaceship there is a robot with a peacock-like spread of antennae, and an old man who is
thoroughly fed up. They have travelled for centuries, in search of a new home after Earth became
uninhabitable. The man is ready to settle just about anywhere, but the robot is far too much of a mother
hen to let his beloved master set foot on a sub-par planet. Will their journey ever end?
The stunning design of this film is coupled with an equally intriguing story.
