Swedish premiere/Méliès d’Argent Competition
A family is getting ready to celebrate New Year’s Eve in an isolated country house in the middle of the Spanish mountains. Suddenly, a mysterious midget, claiming to be God, interrupts their celebrations and tells them humanity will cease to exist come morning. Only two people will survive and it’s up to them to decide who that will be.
With Killing God Caye Casas and Albert Pintó deliver a surreal and hilarious debut filled with horror, blood, and absurdity. Fans of Álex de la Iglesia’s dark and funny take on the Spanish middle class and the community around it will enjoy this sharp and hilarious end-of-the-world story brought to life by impressive production design, on-point cinematography and a notable performance by Itziar Castro.
