Int’l jury

This year’s international jury consists of:

Valeria Richter
Valeria Richter is project manager of Nordic Genre Boost, a 3-year development initiative by Nordisk Film & TV Fond. She works as script consultant, writer and creative producer in her own companies, Nordic Factory Copenhagen and Pebble. In 2014 she produced a Danish-Finnish co-production of 4 short films that premiered at a special screening at Directors’ Fortnight in Cannes. One of the films, Listen, won Best Narrative Short at Tribeca FF in 2015, was nominated for the EFA and has participated in over 150 festivals, winning over 40 awards.
She is the Danish co-producer of Swedish feature film Granny’s Dancing on the Table (premiered 2015), produced by her production partner, Nordic Factory Sweden, and is currently writing and developing her first TV-series, Next of Kin and a young adult feature film.
Since 2008 she works for the international training programme, TorinoFilmLab, and is in charge of the yearly POWR workshop for Nordic and Baltic scriptwriters at the Baltic Event in Tallinn. Valeria holds an MA in Film & Media Science, is a graduate producer of the Super16 film collective (2008) and since 2009, member of the European Film Academy.


Marie Grahtø Sørensen
Marie Grahtø (1984) is an award-winning film director based in Copenhagen, Denmark. She has been nominated for a Robert (Danish Academy) Award twice. Grahtø was named ‘Director to Watch’ in November 2013 by Danish film magazine ‘Ekko’, Norwegian film magazine ‘Rushprint’, Swedish film magazine ‘FLM’ and Finnish film magazine ‘Episodi’. She has travelled around the world with her short film Daimi, which had its world premiere at the 2013 International Film Festival Rotterdam and was Danish Academy Award nominee for Best Short. Her short film YOLO (2013) has travelled to the largest LGBTQ Film Festivals in the world, including Frameline38 in San Francisco. Her short film Teenland (2014) was nominated for a Danish Academy Award in the category Best Short (2015). It world premiered at 2015 South by Southwest (SXSW).


Alexander Brøndsted
Alexander Brøndsted is a Danish director, script writer and producer. Has directed and written ther short films “Hollywood” (2004), “Havana” (2005) and “The Amazing Death of Mrs. Müller” (2006) – the latter two written and directed in collaboration with Antonio Tublén.

Brøndsted’s feature film debut “Original” (2009) has also been developed in collaboration with Antonio Tublén, with whom he has entered into a creative partnership. Last year they visited the festival with their highly acclaimed feature film LFO: The Movie.

    In KUNG FU PANDA 3, Master Shifu names Po ass the new teacher, because hee feels more comfortable, a responsibility that of coourse Po isn’t able to manage simply being
    the dragon warrior thyat saves the hamlet whenever they want help.
