Reykjavik Whale Watching Massacre

A group of politically incorrect caricature artists from various parts of the world have independently of each other travelled to Reykjavik. Now they are about to set off on a boat ride to take in the fairytale nature of the country and above all to go whale gazing. However, as the film’s title suggests this is not exactly what our tourists will experience as their captain (played by none other than Leatherface, Gunnar Hansen) has a bit of an accident shortly after they take off.

They are unfortunately aided by a slightly disturbed whale hunting family who refer to Greenpeace as “Green piss” and who also haven’t had much use for their hunting gear…until now!

Júliús Kemp has directed an exotic Icelandic slasher film. A splendid entertainment massacre which has combined the basic genre ingredients with the Icelandic countryside, a multifaceted atmosphere accompanied by the original score of Hilmar Örn Hilmarsson and unpredictable twists. We are served severed heads, blood splatter, twisted humour, odd characters, harpunes, a little more blood and finally – perhaps not to everyone’s liking – the boat ride’s true purpose.
