The geniuses behind the laugh-o-rama A Town Called Panic (winner of our 2009 Silver Méliès), are back – this time with lovely Ernest & Celestine.

In the sewer system beneath a world of bears, Celestine lives in the mouse world with lots of other little mice. There, fear of the big bad bear and collecting bear cubs’ milk teeth are all that matter. But Celestine refuses to believe that bears are her enemies. When she during ther ooth-gathering meets famished hobo bear Ernest, she almost does get eaten – but a slap on the face and a candy bribe and she’s gained a friend for life instead. But as it turns out, being a bear’s friend isn’t always easy.

The film is based on the popular children’s books by Gabrielle Vincent. With its simplistic but gracefully adorable animations, witty dialogue and softly dark sense of humour stirring underneath all the sweetness, we’re treated to a real gem, suitable for big and small, bears and mice alike!
